Up for healing in the mind this month has been Special Relationships. At the recent retreat in Yowrie, the following ideas were looked at in the mind; the need to control others, situations and events, people pleasing and exposing the authority problem. Devoted brothers and sisters gathered to expose these ideas and practise being in complete integrity with whatever was coming up for healing. It looked messy to begin with and then with the sincere prayer of the heart "show me how to see this differently" the love began to shine through, available to be felt by all. It truly is profound that when you have the willingness to hold nothing back from the Spirit, we are all held in the truth and joy reigns!!

David writes, 

Jesus devotes nine chapters to "special relationships" in ACIM and says that the special love relationship is the ego's most boasted "gift." (T-16.V.3) The undoing of the guilt and fear and pain of specialness is only painful to the ego, which is being undone. Yet you are opening to the awareness that you ARE NOT the ego. You are Holy. The Holy bless and offer only blessing, so nothing can be lost in extending the Self God creates Perfect,

The Holy Spirit leads through the darkness to the Light. The "journey inward" may seem "dark" to the ego, for the ego is being undone and it resents and fears each step. I am joined with you in coming through the perceived fear. No "body" can increase fear, yet while you give faith to the ego you will value bodies and the communication from bodies.

I share with you a Communication that can never be broken off, for I offer what the Holy Spirit shares with you. This inner blessing is not dependent on words, yet I use them Now to encourage you to go through the fear within to the Love that is still deeper within.

If the Holy Spirit's Purpose is held firmly as the only goal, I assure you that only Love can be the experience. An "experience" of fear is a Call for Love, a Call to extend what was believed to be lacking. This extension can never be blocked. "Relationships" only reflect belief, and if "a relationship with your brother" seemed to be broken it only reflected the belief that the Relationship with God had been broken. Love is unbreakable and indivisible. Ask if the ego's belief and misperception could ever satisfy your holy mind, and realize You have the Answer.

Do not look to "another" for Guidance. The external "seeking" was the seeming sickness of mind. You have the Truth within your Mind. Seek within and you shall find What is forever true. The ego teaches that relationships begin and end, rejoicing in the former and lamenting the latter. Nothing that is True has a "beginning" or an "end." Glory be to the Living One for creating Love Eternal!!!

The movie 'Limitless' was shown during the recent retreat. In the film Eddie comes to experience the full use of his mind; a symbol of what is possible when the mind is given over the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Eddie learns discernment as he fine-tunes the use of his mind and his expanded abilities. With the Spirit by our side, we are truly capable of magnificence!

Jesus writes,

Be not content with littleness. But be sure you understand what littleness is, and why you could never be content with it. Littleness is the offering you give yourself. You offer this in place of magnitude, and you accept it. Everything in this world is little because it is a world made out of littleness, in the strange belief that littleness
can content you. When you strive for anything in this world in the belief that it will bring you peace, you are belittling yourself and blinding yourself to glory. Littleness and glory are the choices open to your striving and your vigilance. You will always choose one at the expense of the other.

Yet what you do not realise, each time you choose, is that your choice is your
evaluation of yourself. Choose littleness and you will not have peace, for you will have judged yourself unworthy of it. And whatever you offer as a substitute is much too poor a gift to satisfy you. It is essential that you accept the fact, and accept it gladly, that there is no form of littleness that can ever content you. You are free to try as many as you wish, but all you will be doing is to delay your homecoming. For you will be content only in magnitude, which is your home.

If you are wholly willing to leave salvation to the plan of God and unwilling to
attempt to grasp for peace yourself, salvation will be given you. Yet think not you can substitute your plan for His. Rather, join with me in His, that we may release all those who would be bound, proclaiming together that the Son of God is host to Him. Thus will we let no one forget what you would remember. And thus will you remember it. ACIM T15.V.III


Releasing relationships to the Spirit was a theme of the retreat. It was seen that the deceived mind believes it needs to control others, to bring them along, to "be there" for them. These are all ego ploys for seeking outside of yourself.

Holy relationship is not between people.
It is very simply the Pupose of acceptance and
non-judegment held firmly and surely in mind.

It looks, waits, watches and judges not. It does not seek to change the world, for holy relationship is the symbol of a forgiven world.

The Purpose is equally applicable to every person, place, thing, situation and event.
